The next iteration of Galaxy is suppose to be a blast and it will most definitely be a top player in the smartphone market. Let’s have a look at the rumored features:

1. A bigger screen

Most reviews predict at least a 4.3-inch display, and most probably a 4.8-inch HD display, offering
Blu-ray”-like quality. We might just be witnessing the baddest Android-based smartphone on the market today.

2. A ceramic body

The ceramic body is a state of the art high-quality feature. The iPhone is made of metal and glass, the majority of smartphones are made of plastic but the new Samsung smartphone is said to be made out of ceramic, according to Huffington Post. This is not the first time a company uses this material. The Korean company Pantech had launched its first ceramic handset at the start of 2012.

3. Improved innards

The new Samsung will probably have a 1.5 GHz quad-core chip, with a faster 4G LTE connectivity and a 8MP camera along with a 2MP camera for video-chat. There were rumors that Samsung will also incorporate 3D into the handset but Mat Brian, working for the NextWeb infirmed it.

4. Mobile payment feature

In 2011, Samsung and Visa made a partnership that will allow Samsung phones to be used as credit cards, around the time of Summer Olympic Games this year. Mobile payment is the next big thing and slowly all smartphone manufacturer will have to incorporate this feature too. Samsung S III will most likely be capable of this feature.

5. Android 4.0

Yeap, Samsung S III will also feature the latest Android release. The new operating system incorporates amazing features such as five-column icon layout and digital home button. The phone will be a blast.

If you are not sure that you will be able to afford this new release consider getting rid of your old devices. Trade2Save recycles all your electronics. Sell used cell phones to trade 2 save and cash your check!

Sony Xperia S was unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Shows which took place in Las Vegas a couple of months ago. The phone ships in two available colors, black and white, and they look beautiful in both colors. Let’s examine closer some of the most important features of this brand new handset.

The design is very simplistic but stylish. The transparent string placed along the bottom looks really cool, housing icons for the touch points – menu, home, back. The buttons can be confusing at first mainly because they are so small and they aren’t marked that well, resulting in pressing the wrong buttons until you get used to them.

The phone has 144grams, which is heavier than most of its competitors, and a bit thicker as well, but these difference don’t really matter in reality. The phone comes with a notification LED which tells you when you are out of battery. Xperia S comes with no micro SD card, so you will have to get used to only 32 GB of memory. The screen of the phone is obviously scratch resistant and the frontal camera is a normal 1.3 MP unit.

The top side features a power button along with a 3.5mm jack port. The left side features micro USB port while the right side features a micro HDMI port, dedicated camera key and a volume rocker. The microphone is placed at the bottom of course. The rear side boats its 12.1 MP camera, a speaker, LED flash and a secondary microphone.

The screen is a beautiful 4.3 inches TFT touchscreen registering a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, with a density of 342 PPI. The display quality is provided by the Sony’s Mobile Bravia Engine, which produced superb quality images. However, this feature only works with videos and photos. The touch is very responsive and fluid and the viewing angles are good.

This bad boy is powered by a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 dual-core chip and 1 GB RAM which renders exquisite processing performance. The 1750mAh provides enough power to run all your applications smoothly without being worried about potential high power consumption.

Another thing that people don’t talk about when it comes to phones is sound. Sony Xperia S has a loud loudspeaker and the noise cancelation feature does it jobs well. The phone has a really sophisticated feel to it despite its simplistic matte finish look. Some people might find the simplistic style not impressive but it all depends on your preferences really.

Sony Xperia S is obvious one the best choices on the market in terms of high-end handsets. Critics say the phone costs a little bit too much but you always have the option to sell your old gadget. Trade2Save buys all your used electronics. You can sell used cell phones directly from this website.

This article will talk about the important mobile operating systems on the market, and what makes each of them suitable for business.

The most important mobile operating systems are Google’s Android, Apple’s iOS, RIM’s BlackBerry OS and Microsoft Windows Phone 7. All these systems can perform well when used for business purposes but each of them has its own advantages. You need to test every system before you settle on one.

Android

At this moment in time the Android phones are operating one of the two versions of the system: Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Eventually, all phones running the 2.3 version will receive an upgrade for the 4.0 version. Both of these systems offer secure mobile payment apps, one-touch word selection, copy/paste and voice over IP calls. The email features are more advanced on Ice Cream Sandwich, business-wise that’s probably the most important difference between the two.

iOS

This system has never been the favorite of business users. The last version, iOS 5, comes with very good business features. The platform offers Siri, which is a highly effective digital assistant. Siri allows you to send messages very easily, create calendar appointments, solve math equations, set alarms, all via voice command. The best addition for iOS 5 in terms of business is iCloud, Apple service that allows users to synch and share files (music, videos, photos, documents) across many Apple devices.

Windows Phone

Windows Phone Mango is the latest version of the system and it comes with many business features. The most important one is called Office Hub, giving the users access to the Office Suite package. Users also get Evernote and One Note for note taking, Windows Like SkyDrive and Office 365 for file sharing. The mail features are also very business friendly, with quick access and efficient placements.

BlackBerry

The latest version of RIM’s operating system is BlackBerry 7 OS. This platform comes with BlackBerry Balance, an application that help you separate your personal and your business life on your phone. Whenever your phone gets connected to BlackBerry Enterprise Server, it will keep your personal information secure. BlackBerry Protect is a service that backs up your data and is completely free for RIM users. BlackBerry also offers their own package for writing and editing documents called Documents to Go.

Each operating system has their own features that makes them unique, however they all share almost the same underlying functionalities. Some people may advice you to pick the one that you feel most comfortable with and forget about features because in end you could always find a suitable app that does what you want.

The phone is already available for preorder. This is a flagship smartphone for both Nokia and Microsoft, and a lot of people will consider purchasing it. What we aren’t sure yet if it’s better than Apple iPhone 4S, so let’s have a look at the table and discuss some of the differences.

Nokia has produced three Lumia models: the Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900. From all of them the one with the most positive reviews is the latest Lumia 900. This model features a AMOLED ClearBlack display measuring 4.3 inches and registering a 800×480 pixels resolution. iPhone offers a smaller screen, 3.5 inches in size and a resolution of 960×640 pixels. The Lumia offers a single core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm APQ8055 processor running on the super fast 4G LTE network from AT&T. The phone also comes with a 8MP camera featuring Carl Zeiss lens, capturing 720p video less than 1080p offered by iPhone.

Both phones look really good. The Lumia has a flat bottom, rolled edges and initially was set to come in 3 colors (blue, black and white). Meanwhile, the Apple’s latest smartphone comes with a dual-core A5 chip delivering two times more power than the Lumia; it features a 8MP camera with 1080p and is available in 2 more version than the Lumia, 32 and 64GB besides the obvious 16GB.

As we can see the specs are relatively similar for both phones, the biggest difference is that the Lumia uses a much faster network, the LTE 4G, while iPhone 4S is still using the old 3G. If speed is very important to you, 4G is the way to go. Both phones are using different platforms. Windows Phone 7.5 is said to be one of the simplest platforms out there, optimized for high social experiences. Windows Phone Marketplace harbors 65,000 apps while Apple Store features no less than 500,000 apps.

The choice is ultimately yours. Nokia has obviously capitalized on the most essential high-end smartphone components offering a very affordable alternative to the iPhone 4S which is indeed worth having a look at. However, in many aspects iPhone 4S is better and more versatile.

Get cash on your old devices with trade2save. Recycle old cell phones and be environmentally friendly.

Almost 60% of the total company’s revenues come from the Qualcomm chips alone and it represents 40% of the total value of the company according to TheStreet. Handset vendors such as Samsung, Nokia, Apple, ZTE and Huawei also use its chipsets.

The company really hit home run last year with its hardware alliance with iPhone 4S replacing Infineon used by the Apple devices. The new iPad also comes with the Qualcomm LTE chipset. There is a high probability the new iPhone 5 will also have the Qualcomm chip. Nokia uses the same chipsets for the Lumia smartphones. ZTE and Huawei recently signed multi-million contracts with Qualcomm for chipset manufacturing for their phones.

When the iPhone 4S was launched in China, 2 of the 3 major carriers operated Qualcomm-based handsets and the last carrier, China Mobile, will also operate the chip by 2013. Nokia is releasing Lumia on all three Chinese carriers on 28th of March. ZTE and Huawei are leading the market with their cheap handsets.

According to IDC, China’s smartphone market segment is on its full bloom and expected to overtake the U.S.A by 2013, as the world’s largest smartphone market by volume. IDC estimates that China will increase its smartphone shipments by 52% this year, reaching 137 million units, taking over 20.7% market share by 2013. This is mainly due to the fact the market is transiting from 2G to 3G and Qualcomm is expected to lead its segment.

Second, many royalties will be granted by 3G smartphone makers. Qualcomm holds numerous patents. CDMA, wireless 3G are among the most important patents hold by Qualcomm. The company charges a fee for every handset that is produced and uses it’s technologies.

According to IDC China will lead the smartphone market in 2012 overtaking the U.S. The research firm predicted on Thursday that China will own 20.7% share of the global market 2011, slightly overtaking the U.S. market share of 20.75%. The Asian country lead the smartphone shipments in the second half of this year for two consecutive months and according to IDC it will continue its momentum in 2012.

Wong Teck Zhung, a senior analyst for IDC’s Asia and Pacific devices team said that “[Chinese] smartphone shipments are expected to take a slim lead over the U.S. in 2012 before the gap widens in the coming years. There will be no turning back this leadership changeover.” China is estimated to have 20.2% of the global smartphone market by 2016, while the U.S will fall down to 15.3%, according to IDC.

Meanwhile, the smartphone shipments have increased significantly in countries such as India and Brazil and IDC stated that they will “drive growth in the worldwide smartphone market”. The more developed countries such as the U.S., U.K and Japan will see a growth as well but the rate will be much lower since most of these markets are saturated.

Ramon Llamas, a senior research analyst for IDC’s mobile phone technology and trends team stated that “Due to their sheer size, strong demand, and healthy replacement rates, emerging markets are quickly becoming the engines of the worldwide smartphone market… Users in emerging markets seek more than simple voice telephony, and smartphones offer the ideal platform for mobile entertainment, social networking, and business usage as seen in developed markets.”

By 2016 IDC predicts that Indian and Brazil will be among the five top countries as markets for smartphone shipments. India will most likely move from the seven-largest smartphone market to the third position by the same year. Brazil will probably take the number four position, up from 10. The main reason why these markets are expanding on a slower rate is the cost, smartphones are still expensive and these countries are not developed enough to be able to absorb all the new releases. Llamas added “The total cost of ownership remains a hurdle for potential smartphone buyers. Smartphones still represent a significant investment for consumers in many countries.”

The smartphone manufacturers and vendors should diversify their alternatives and they definitely should offer more low-cost devices and just as Llamas said, they need to “creatively subsidize device cost and data plans”. Android smartphones cost less than $200 on average and they were popular in these countries in 2011 and they are expected to sell very well during this year as well.

Creativity versus constraint

Open source platforms are great for consumers and bad for developers (generally). Developers complain that the state of the open platforms can create havoc for programmers, since there is always the uncertainty of how everthing they work on all hardware platforms and OS versions. Developing for Android is developing for a very fragmented market. Some apps will run perfectly on HTC but not that well on Samsung, or if it will have a camera or what the screen size is and how will it affect the app, and the list goes on.

In contrast, Apple offer a far more stable platform to which programmers have to conform. It does limit their freedom but the system is more stable and safe, allowing less malware to infiltrate. The development for the Apple systems is simpler because you only have to test your apps for one standard platform, while Android development requires many more parameters. Generally speaking, Android applications work on 90 percent of the devices.

Security

Proprietary system are said to be more secure. More viruses and malware have been reported for Android because the parent company can’t oversee everything developers do. Apple controls everything that goes into its application store, but the Android store is far less rigorous. If someone creates an application and attaches a virus to it and then makes it available on Android store people can download it and get infected before anyone could do anything about it. Apple store rejects problematic apps.

What the future holds

The selection and availability of apps is something every buyer should be concerned of, whether they are interested in phones or tablets. Developers also choose the largest markets, because they offer them the best return value. Experts believe that the Apple platform will continue to dominate the market because programmers are making apps in the following order: first for iOS, then for Android and rarely for BlackBerry. It seems that the system will successfully coexist for much longer than expected.

However, market share is not the only variable to be taken into consideration when it comes to what smartphone you are choosing but it’s important to know that Android users buy less apps in comparison to Apple users. You are almost guaranteed to make money on iPhone which is a big deal breaker for developers.

There you have it. The comparison that will help you decide what hardware platform you want to buy. Make sure you buy something that you need and then decide on things such as design and network provider.

Look for example at CD’s when they replaced the cassette tapes, then the CD’s got replaced by DVD’s, then the DVD’s got replaced by memory sticks and today the last platform to hold the ground is the download. Today is so easy to download that you don’t need a hardware platform to store your information like in the old days. When it comes to tablets and smartphones we obviously have no clear winner, mainly because each platform is offering something unique to their users.

This implies that consumers choose based on their personal preferences and needs. In order to find their suitable system they have to know something about the software of each one of the companies: Apple, RIM and Android.

There are two main categories of platform philosophies when it comes to smartphone and tablet market share competition: proprietary and open-source.

The most used open-source operating system for mobile devices is Android, the Google’s platform. Many manufacturers are making their own hardware platforms (phones and tablets) that are free to use the system as an open-source and adjust it to their own benefit. This gives both the developers and the hardware manufacturers the freedom to make their own choices that involve this particular operating system.

Proprietary OS, or closed-source operating system are what BlackBerry and Apple devices are using. In this case, the owner of the software platform creates both the hardware as well as the software and checks what apps are getting in, offering very limited freedom to developers.

What’s the best choice?

Well, like with most everything in this world, each system has its pros and cons. But even if the future will favor one platform type over the other, in today’s mobile market both proprietary and open source platforms have their rightful place.

One thing to be noticed is that Apple devices tend to cost more in comparison with Android products, but it is a more stable system since the parent company oversees everything that goes in. Apple maintains is rigorous quality control over applications just because its system is proprietary. Apple wants to be in control of what experience it gives to its users, you know the saying: “what you can’t control you can’t manage”. Apple devices offers a better consumer experience overall but that comes with a price. On the other hand, even if Android is not premium it can cost lower.

Apple has full control over both hardware as well as software platforms (iPhone, iPad and iOS). If users have problems with the hardware or the software(including apps) they talk directly with Apple support services. On an Android, things are completely different, when a user experiences hardware problems with a device they have to deal with its manufacturer, and all the software problems are dealt with the developers which may or may not be able to offer customer support.

On a different note, Android offers more options to their users. Many Android-based smartphone and tablets have HDMI ports, microSD slots, microUSB and Flash support, none of which are offered by Apple at this point.

It’s quite a known fact that not every PC is equipped with a quad-core processor but next week LG will launch their first series of smartphones running quad-core chips. The company announced on Thursday that they will be launching Optimus 4X HD, a brand new super phone featuring Nvidia Tegra3 quad-core.

Each processor is clocked at 1.5 GHz, significantly increasing the performance of the reality apps and games. However, Tegra3 features one more core for other less significant tasks, so the new smartphones will actually have 5 cores instead of 4. The additional core will be used for example to run a music player and other similar apps.

Nvidia actually calls this fifth processor the “ninja core”, but they eventually renamed the product “4-PLUS-1”. The purpose of this core seems to be battery life related, preventing additional battery consumption for simple tasks. Still, we are quite surprised to see LG managing to stuff a large 2150mAh battery inside the Optimus 4X HD.

The quad-core is not the only feature 4X HD has to offer. The gadget also comes with a 4.7-inch HD display. Using a in-plane switching technology(just like Apple iPad / iPad2) is able to display 1280 x 720 pixels. The screen is perfect for viewing photos, movies and other content.

The Optimus 4X HD is equipped with a 8 MP rear camera 1080p HD and a 1.3 MP frontal camera 720p HD. The memory is decent, 1 GB RAM and 16 GB of standard storage for apps, media and other content. Other features include MHL and DLNA, allowing the sharing of HD content with the Android 4.0 and TV. All these features managed to fit into a 8.9mm thick device, which is quite impressive.

The LG Optimus 4X HD will be launched in Europe during the second quarter of 2012. This new phone is among the few quad-core smartphones to be announced, but it may well be the first to be released on the market. However, more quad-core handsets are expected to be presented at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) trade show, kicking off on 27th of February.

At this moment LG is one of the greatest smartphone manufacturers, launching product after product that seem to outclass the well know veterans Apple and Samsung, even if Samsung is holding the ground very well with the recent releases of Galaxy S2 Skyrocket. Will LG surpass the success Samsung has registered so far? We don’t know.

Did you know that now there is a very effective method for discarding your old devices, a method that saves both your time and cash? It’s called “The Trade2Save Trade-In Program”. We are one of the nation’s most popular trade-in companies, we have been in the business for some time now and we want your old unused device and we want to give you money for it! If you have any old cell phones for sale send them to us. We would reward you with a good amount of cash.

The phone is called Huawei Ascend P1 S, and is considered the slimmest smartphones in the world.

The new Huawei Ascend P1 S measures 6.68mm in thinness and it features a Super AMOLED touchscreen measuring 4.3 inches in diagonal and boasting a resolution of 960 x 540, all on its Corning Gorilla Glass.
