Apple iPhone 4S vs HTC Radar for Business Users

There are so many smartphones to choose from these days. Despite the diversified offer, it’s very difficult to find one that suits your needs. If you are in business, the choosing is even more difficult. You need a phone that must comply with your work environment first and foremost. Here is a comparison between two of the most popular high-end gadgets today, Apple iPhone 4S and HTC Radar. Which one suits your business?

Apple iPhone 4S vs HTC Radar: Power

Both smartphones offer high-end data processing power. You have the 1.2 GHz processor boasted by HTC Radar that delivers high speeds when opening apps and browsing menus and web pages. In the same note, iPhone 4S can handle the same tasks even faster, sporting a dual-core A5 processor, probably the most powerful chip on the market. Web pages load faster and are more responsive on the iPhone 4S.

Apple iPhone 4S vs HTC Radar: Screen

The screen size is more important to a business person than it is for a casual user that immerses himself regularly into media content. A huge calendar is essential for a you. You need at least a medium size screen size and both HTC Radar and Apple iPhone 4S are providing that. iPhone 4S gives out 3.5-inch display while HTC Radar offers a 3.8-inch unit.

Apple iPhone 4S vs HTC Radar: Memory

This is the section where the difference between the two can weigh a lot in your decision making. The HTC Radar has a 8 GB module of built-in memory, the possibility to extend the space via microSD is not present. The only solution for the user that is in need for additional storage space is to access the online storage services such as iCloud or Dropbox. Apple iPhone 4S wins the battle for Storage flawlessly, out of the box it already sports at least 16 GB, but other versions are also present: the 32 GB and the 65 GB model.

Apple iPhone 4S vs HTC Radar: Camera

Depending on how often you are using the camera from your phone, is what will determine how much quality you need from your gadget. Both devices sport 5-megapixel units with LED flash. The list features includes: font-facing camera, video calls capability, 720p HD recording capability. The latest iPhone 4S releases are actually equipped with 8 megapixel cameras with 1024 HD recording capability.

Apple iPhone 4S vs HTC Radar: Operating System

The classic iOS vs Android debate here. Both of these systems have their strong points. Both devices offer intuitive user interfaces, but Android is more customizable, displaying even your latest updates from your social networking sites, directly to your homescreen. iOS had always had a different vibe to it. Simplified and colorful menus makes it a pleasure to operate, even a child can navigate the interface. The HTC Radar can use Google Docs, creating and editing spreadsheets has never been more mobile. The iPhone 4S on the other hand, offers a great variety of reminders and applications, enough to keep you organized and efficient. If both these systems were to compete it would most likely be a draw.

Apple iPhone 4S vs HTC Radar: Dimensions

As we are probably used by now, the HTC are usually large devices, except a few models. The HTC Radar measures 120.5 x 61.5 x 10.9 mm in comparison with Apple iPhone 4S which is shaped around 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm. So, if pocket-friendliness is your thing go for the iPhone 4S, even though Radar is 3 grams lighter. In a sense, both of them are even.

Apple iPhone 4S vs HTC Radar: Conclusion

On paper, the better handset is obviously the 4S. It’s more powerful, comes with more memory, newer technology camera and an on-par OS. However, in terms of budget, the choices might change a bit because HTC is Radar is cheaper offering almost the same performance, if you can deal with the lesser memory.

Location Prediction Using Smartphones

Most people are aware of the fact that their handsets are able to track their location and geo-point wherever they go. Have you ever wondered why these feature even exist or what are some potential future ramifications to these functionalities?

If you are not involved in a criminal activity nor do you cheat on your spouse, you have nothing to worry about right? Probably you don’t but a lot of people are concerned about the lack of privacy since every time you are making a call, a cell phone tower will pick the signal and pinpoint your location. So the company has to know where you are in order to pick up the signal, so why would you care if they know or not?

Since you are using a smartphone or a tablet computer, you want them to know where you are, it helps both you and the company to have that location public, since you might need assistance, either to find your way in a difficult to reach location or to guide you out of a crowded area. However, with new technology ever expanding and new AI algorithms being developed, more accurate predictions of your future locations will be developed.

This might seem a bit scary and quite disturbing for some people but since most of your locations are already stored in databases for some time now, wouldn’t it be helpful to have software that thinks ahead of you, even if that means some other people might know where you might be?

Unless you are a billionaire, working for CIA, FBI or other secretive organization, there is no real need to worry about auto-tracking and location prediction features. No one wants to kill you or rob you and since you are a consumer, the companies are doing their best to keep the private data safe, since it’s in their best interest to keep you safe and sound.

The companies want to sell you their products and services. They want to know your location in order to show you ads that are specific to your location. Think about it, probably in the future the companies will offer you a free smartphone or tablet pc and in return they will require 24/7 access to your locations in order to deliver those adds to you. It’s a win-win situation for both parties involved.

The only problem with location prediction is when you are using a used handset. Your used handset had a different set of locations that the previous owner used and will your new gadget be able to safely predict your new location? It’s no longer prediction right? Predict what, if there are no previous values that relate to you? People who own used cell phones for sale often times never bother to free their memory. If you buy used devices don’t forget to erase all the data stored in their memory.

LG Optimus One and HTC 7 Mozart – Mid-Range Smartphone Comparison

It is a very hard work to compared mobile phones before actually buying them and using them for a while. With the new two mid-range smartphones recently launched by LG and HTC, things are not that difficult to tell apart. Both of these gadgets are priced competitively and they suit perfectly the lower budget sector.

Both of them can be purchased stand-alone or on different contract deals. The ‘pay as you go’ is also available. In order to compare these gadgets thoroughly, we need to take each of them independently and look closely to some of their key features.

Design

The most eye catching features of a smartphone, any smartphone, is its design. The overall design, shape, form and appearance are what first gets your interest going.

The LG Optimus One P500comes with a touchscreen form casing, featuring an elegant chrome-based effect edging and is available in six colors including silver, purple, black, titan, blue and dark red. Overall, it’s a compact gadget, measuring 113.5 x 59 x 13.3 mm and weighing no more than 129 grams.

The HTC 7 Mozartalso features a touch screen display, available in one single color scheme, which is a black brushed aluminum casing with the rear side of the phone is marked by subtle etched swirls. In comparison to the LG Optimus One, this is a slimmer gadget but taller than its rival, measuring 119 x 60.2 x 11.9 mm weighing no less than 130 grams.

Both of these gadgets are gorgeous, the only way to determine which one of them is the “best” in this department comes down to your own personal preference.

Connectivity, Storage and Memory

There are a lot of factors that are important when deciding which smartphone should you buy. Some of these factors are: the operating system, memory, battery time and built-in technologies.

The Optimus One P500 runs on the Android operating system, whereas the LG 7 Mozart is powered by the latest Microsoft Windows Phone 7 OS. Both of these phones support 3G technology, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, EDGE, assisted GPS and USB connectivity. However, the 7 Mozart supports Bing Maps, while the Optimus One comes with Google Maps as we would expect (Bing is owned by Microsoft and Android and Google Maps are both owned by Google).

In terms of memory capabilities, the Optimus One supports less internal memory but more expandable memory compared to the 7 Mozart. The memory of the LG phone can be expanded with up to 32 GB, while the HTC phone falls a bit short, supporting no more than 8 GB of extended memory.

The Optimus One P500 provides better battery time. In 3G mode, the LG can offer 7.5 hours of talk time, while its rival offers only 5.5 hours from a full battery. If battery power is a huge issue for you and chances are that lots of people are concerned by the lower performances of HTC in this sector, you will have to go with the LG on this one. When putting everything in a balance, some people will definitely prefer the HTC model, but you will have to take every other major feature into consideration.

Display and Sound

The LG handset has a smaller touch screen display, smaller megapixel camera unit and not that impressive sound and music features compared to its rival. The LG Optimus One comes with a 3.2 inches touch screen display and 3.1 MP camera unit, whereas the HTC Mozart boasts a 3.7 inches screen and a massive 8 MP digital unit.

In the sound department, the LG smartphone offers FM radio and music player, whereas the HTC handset offers the same features plus the Zune music hub and the SRS surround sound.

Internet and Messaging

Both of these handsets offer outstanding internet features. Both of them support HTML browsers and a variety of different messaging services from instant messaging to SMS, with built-in social platforms capabilities, basically they are more or less the same in terms of messaging, internet and communication features.

In summary, the Optimus One offers more storage space, more efficient battery usage and a very competitive price for this Android based gadget. In comparison, the 7 Mozart offers a more impression touchscreen display, higher quality camera and some additional media features.

Till this point, you probably have an idea which one of these handset you prefer the most. Personally, I prefer the LG despite the fact that it has lower media, camera and display features, battery time is so important to me. But I can also see the reasons why someone would love the HTC instead.

Overall, it’s a tough decision. I would also think twice before buying one of these gadgets new. What I would do is sell my cell phone, the one I already have, and use that cash for the purchase an used LG or an HTC. There are plenty of cheap gadgets on the used smartphones market.

HTC Sensation – Top Smartphone From HTC

The HTC manufacturer based in Taiwan has been increasing in popularity and sales for the past couple of years. At this moment in time it is the number one best selling smartphone company with its Android handsets. In 2010, the HTC Desire won the T3 award for “the mobile phone of the year”. The Desire came with a speedy 1 GHz processor and the Qualcomm QSD8250 “Scorpion” with the Adreno 200 GPU graphics chipset.

Besides the beautiful design and the Android features along side with the Sense UI, the experience offered by the HTC Desire was unrivaled on the market at that time. But this is 2011 and the company launched a new product that follows the footsteps of HTC Desire and beyond. What’s next after Desire? That’s right –the Sensation!

The HTC Sensation is the company’s flagship model at this time, featuring a incredibly powerful dual core processor, the 1.2 GHz Qualcomm MSM 8260 also known as the Snapdragon, with the same high quality graphics chipset, the Adreno 220 GPU. There are currently only two smartphones on the market boasting 1.2 GHz dual core processors. The other one is the most popular Samsung Galaxy S2.

The dual core processor is perfect for multi tasking applications or apps that require a lot of processing power such as video calls and intense gaming, not to mention data conversions and loading big files and apps. The handset comes with a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit, HD game and videos will run smooth offering superb quality.

The HTC Sensation, as expected, comes with a preinstalled version of Android operating system, the Gingerbread. The Android system is highly advanced and in 2011 it surpassed both the iOS and the Symbian, in terms of number of users. Now, with the recent purchase of Motorola by Google, we expect even more users to join the Android team.

Some of the key featured offered by the Google’s OS are: the enhanced virtual keyboard, copy / paste options, smoother multi tasking and of course, enhanced power management. Power management is one of the top priorities of smartphone upgrades. Since these gadgets have so many high end features, they tend to take a lot of battery power. High battery usage is the second disadvantage of using smartphones instead of regular cell phones, immediately after the fragility of these devices.

Another feature that has a lot to do with the success HTC has seen in the past years is the most popular, very user friendly, Sense User Interface. The HTC Sensation comes with an upgraded version, the Sense UI v3.0. The newest UIs are demanding a lot of hardware features, that’s the main reason why just a handful of handsets are capable to run it without hindering the user experience.

The speed in every aspect defines the new Sensation. Capturing photos in a blink of an eye, it seem like the dual core processor has something to do with it but no, it’s all thanks to the high quality digital camera unit. Unlike a lot of smartphones on the market, the new handset from HTC supports Adobe Flash content, multi tab browsing and quick look-up for inquiries.

It would fair to say that HTC Sensation is well worth the price. The cost for a new device is $600 but you can also purchase it from online retailers or private owners for a lot less than that. Some people will sell used cell phones for as low as $200, depending on the model and it’s condition. Before buying a new product, you should check the used products market on eBay, you would be surprised how many bargains you will find.

The HTC Sensation – The Sensation That You Have Been Looking For

The New HTC Sensation is probably the most popular HTC handset. Properly labeled by critics around the world as the HTC’s flagship smartphone, it is truly a testament of how far the smartphone industry has evolved in the past couple years. Meanwhile, HTC continues to release better and better products in an attempt to offer their customers the best smartphone experience. Since HTC Evo 4G is already the number one best selling handset in 2011 we can pretty much conclude that HTC does a great job in keeping their customers happy.

But we are talking about HTC Sensation in this article and here are a few of its most important features.

Dimensions and Design

What would a smartphone be without it’s touchscreen. The new HTC Sensation comes with a larger 4.3 inches screen, which is the standard size for all high end gadgets. There are a couple handsets that are boasting 4.5 inches in diagonal, but most span only over 4.0 – 4.3 inches. The measurements for the HTC Sensation are: 12.61 x 6.54 x 1.13 cm. That’s almost the standard size for a handset of this caliber. The design is beautiful and attractive, featuring stylish curves and a sleek black color scheme.

Operating System, Processor and User Interface

At the time of the launch the most advanced operating system was the Android v2.3. The HTC Sensation could use nothing else but the version 2.3 called the Gingerbread. The handset soon became very popular and a great deal of recognition goes towards the most popular user interface employed by all HTC handsets, the Sense UI v3.0. This is a highly customizable user interface with a lot of features that has been greatly improved since the last versions.

The most notable addition that comes to mind is the security feature, Active LockScreen. This brand new feature allows you to access the most popular apps without unlocking the screen every time you want to use them. Of course, there are many other of features for customization that allow you to stream the utility of your gadget in your own personal direction.

The best hardware features boasted by the HTC Sensation is the dual core 1.2 GHz processor. This chip is one of the best on the market, it’s a true powerhouse. This is actually the first dual core unit employed by HTC but there aren’t many smartphones out there sporting this high end hardware feature. There are many advantages offered by the dual core unit such as more efficient multi tasking ,improved graphics, higher web browsing speeds, more responsive touchscreen and the ability to handle highly demanding apps.

Digital Camera

Just like any smartphone, the HTC Sensation comes with a built-in digital camera, able to register 8 MP. The camera features dual LED flash capability, image stabilization, face recognition, low light condition photography and a staggering 1080p full HD video recording capability.

You can buy a new HTC Sensation for only $400 from any major online and offline retailer. Actually, the offline retailers are most always a bit more expensive, so an online retailer should be preferred. Plus, there are a lot of people who no longer need their gadgets and they eventually have to sell used cell phones for cash to cover the cost for other new items, which is a very wise thing to do. Buy it new or buy it used, whatever you may chose always remember to recycle your old handsets.

The New Super Smartphone – HTC Sensation

The new HTC Sensation is one of the most powerful handsets in the market today. Followed up closely by the Samsung Galaxy S2, the new Sensation redefines data processing speed and high end technology. This is one of the two cell phones in the U.K. smartphone market that offers a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and most everyone once one.

Dual core chips are the new thing. With more demanding apps being released every month now, the hardware systems are tested to the limits. Being able to run your apps faster is one of the main attraction to any high end smartphone and in this department, the new HTC Sensation sure doesn’t fail to deliver.

Besides the highest processing speed, the HTC Sensation has to also cater all your multi-media needs. The phone comes with a huge S-LCD capacitive touchscreen spanning over 4.3 inches and registering a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, which is the highest smartphone resolution available.

The Taiwanese’ flagship smartphone comes with a 8 MP digital camera unit capable of recording 1080p HD video with stereo sound quality. The camera boasts all the high end features such as: dual LED flash, autofocus, touch-focus, instant capture, face detection, image stabilization and geo-tagging.

If you managed to capture great footage on your HTC Sensation, you most definitely want to enjoy it on a larger HD screen. Thanks to DLNA connectivity option you can stream photos and videos in a wireless mode to your HDTV. The HTC Station is not only providing you with staggering video quality, it also features state of the art sound quality capabilities. The Hi-Fi sound technology is incorporated into it providing high quality digital surround sound. Another great feature is the HTC Watch. This capability allows you to stream and download your favorite movies directly to your smartphone.

The HTC Sensation is a top 10 best selling smartphone selling for $600. You can also purchase it used for less than $400. Cell phone recycling gives you so many options when it comes to purchasing a gadget. You are no longer bound to choose between two or three options. Thanks to used products market you have access to thousands of products. For example, you can get an used HTC Sensation that is still in a very good shape, for as low as $200. If you want to get yourself a good deal, scan eBay products from time to time. You might get yourself a bargain.

The HTC Wildfire S – A Mid-Segment Powerhouse

The new HTC Wildfire S is a great addition to one of the most popular HTC series. This is clearly one of the best mid-segment smartphone on the market, but let’s look at some of its features and decide for ourselves if this is truly a great handset to buy.

Specifications

Processor – Single core 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 with Adreno 200 GPU
Display – TFT capacitive touchscreen, 3.2 inch with a resolution registering 320 x 480 pixels
Memory – 512 MB RAM plus 512 MB ROM; extendable memory via microSD card slot
Interface – Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v2.1 (A2DP), microUSB v2.0
Camera – 5 MP autofocus camera
Navigation – GPS with A-GPS support
Size – 10,13 x 5.94 x 1.24 cm
OS – Android v2.3 with HTC Sense v2.1 UI

Design

The new Wildfire S has a lot in common with all the models previously launched by the company. The phone itself has a smaller size compared to the others, more specifically, it’s not that long. The smartphone does not have a trackball and interestingly enough it doesn’t hinder the phone’s usability at all. However, the absence is nevertheless compensated by the more elaborated operating system, the Android 2.1 which facilitates most of the inputs.

The phone comes in three shades: black-gray, white and purple. The front panel is covered with a high quality protective glass, also known as Gorilla glass. This technology is the most effective on the market and it’s being employed by most top handsets out there. The buttons are delicately arranged on the bottom of the screen, as we have also seen in the previous Wildfire. The top has a small logo and a nice earpiece cut, covered by a metal grid.

The rear panel feels extremely smooth and the smartphone fits perfectly in your palm. The phone also comes with an external speaker with a high capacity, which makes phone calls very hard to miss. The rear panel features a 5 MB camera with auto focus, face recognition and LED flash. The left side of the phone features a delicate volume control button and a micro USB port that can be used to charge the handset and to sync it with your home computer. On the top side you can find a 3.5 mm jack and a device lock.

Display

The handset features the exact display size as the previous model, despite the smaller overall dimensions. However, the new phone comes with a high quality TFT screen with a HVGA resolution of 320 x 480, which is far better than the older QVGA featured in its predecessor. Even though the HTC Wildfire S supports capacitive technology, it does not support the multi touch functionality.

Performance

The Wildfire S comes with a Qualcomm process spinning at 600 MHz and although it may not be the high end CPU designed for 3D games and interactive multimedia capabilities it does however meet most business requirements. The process and the 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM are enough for any business app.

Results

Overall the handset is a great purchase. It sells for the same price as the previous Wildfire and the features are well worth every penny. Of course, you can always buy the product used, therefore paying far less than its initial cost but that depends on additional factors that may or may not be working in your advantage. Plenty of used cell phones for sale out there but getting a great quality used product requires a good eye in spotting great deals. Keep an eye on eBay for new entries and maybe you get yourself a nice bargain.

HTC Salsa was launched in the same time as HTC Chacha. Just like a few others on the market, the new Salsa takes a leap into a brand new market segment: the Facebook smartphones. Although the phone puts a lot of emphasis on its Facebook capabilities, there are many other features that facilitate communication like MMS, email services, instant messenger like GTalk, threaded SMS. You also have more advanced media and communication apps like Twitter and Facebook Chat.

Operating this gadget is the well known Android 2.4 Gingerbread from Google and teamed up with Sense UI are offering users a very smooth experience in handling the handset. Software integration is a big part of a smartphone and it’s important if users love to use a gadget and more important, if users can handle the handset easily and intuitively. And HTC has build a reputation by offering people a very easy to use software tool through their Sense UI platform.
