iPhone System VS Android System – Which One Is Going To Be?

Apple really did a great job by releasing a Verizon version of its highly popular handset, the iPhone 4. A lot of people had Verizon and really did not want to commit to a new contract with AT&T, so the new release expanded the iPhone market with almost a double. It was truly a joy for the iPhone lovers who finally got the chance to purchase this amazing handset. Although the Apple mobiles have a steady place in the best selling smartphones ladder, the competition with the Droid systems is still fierce and although the latter is slightly ahead, the battle is not complete. Here is a brief summary of the Droid versus iPhone software and hardware systems.

In this debate we have to set the most important things aside and discuss them. These things are referring to technological difference and resemblances between both of these systems. Both Droid and iPhone offer access to 3G networks. This is crucial for any competitive smartphone out there. The 3G network allows you to access and download maps, games, music and many other thousands of applications. Basically, everything you need is available through this network.

The next feature that is worth mentioning for this comparison is the Internet Hotpot. This service comes with an additional cost on top of your monthly charge and through the Apple technology you are able to access 5 devices while with the Droid Systems you are able to access 8 devices. The Android system is slightly better in this respect, if you have many friends over that are using the internet. But most people don’t use this service that much, in order to save money, and the extra coverage the Droid systems provide is not that important. Five is more than enough for most people, but some really need the extra three.

Another important difference that might weigh a lot for some people in their decision making when buying one of these smartphones is that the Apple handset doesn’t feature a HDMI port. If you plan to connect your mobile phone to other devices like a HD TV, a Droid system would be much better for you. If you are a gamer, you would probably want to plug your iPhone to your TV set so you can play your games. In that case it is probably better to NOT go with the Apple system.

The operating systems for these two devices are very different. The Droid systems, are using the Android OS v2.2 and above while the Apple iPhone is powered by their very own operating system, called the iOS.

Probably a notable observation is that the number of iPhone applications available through download are 3 times more than the Android applications. The iPhone technology is a bit older and iPhone was launched before the other handsets were running Android technology. But that is not that important considering that more iOS downloadable applications require a small fee for you to download while Droid offers more free stuff. People also complain over the fact that Droid has more pornographic material available, but let’s face it, a lot of people actually enjoy watching it and they value Droid for this particular reason.

If you are a highly intense internet user that accesses many websites that feature a lot of flash content you have to know that Adobe Flash player is not supported by the iPhone handset. Also, the Apple handset also has another drawback. The iPhone does not support “turn by turn” navigation. This particular problem frustrates a lot of people who use their free navigator frequently.
iPhone 4 features outstanding display quality. All pictures and videos are displayed with high quality and a great amount of PPI. Compared to most smartphones, iPhone offers more graphical features, both in terms of hardware as well as software. The system also has two digital cameras (front and back). This is a very useful capability, allowing you to make a video conference with another person that is also using an iPhone. But the iPhone falls back in terms of digital camera quality. The picture resolution is offered by an average 5 mega pixel camera, while most Droid systems offer at least a 8 mega pixel camera.

For the gamers out there that enjoy the gyroscope technology they should know that the iPhone is the best in this department compared to the other devices. There are not many games that require this feature but some do and a lot of people spend time playing them.

Both of these phones are great but I personally had to sell my cell phone a few months ago to buy the HTC Evo 3D for the additional features that the iPhone does not support. I’m a huge iPhone fan, but it’s just not keeping pace with my daily activities. so unfortunately I had to replace it. I used Trade2Save.com and my device sold in a couple of weeks. Overall I’m satisfied with what I got.

Which SmartPhone – iPhone, Sony Ericsson, Blackberry or Samsung

The newest category of mobile phones are the smartphones. These devices are conquering the mobile market with their new functionality and efficiency. The mobile giants, iPhone, Nokia, Blackberry and Sony Ericsson all of them battle for supremacy and leadership in this market sector. Each of them has its own unique look and functionality and they are pretty close to each other in terms of technology and quality of products.

iPhone is the number one cell phone in US, while in Europe the leadership is held by Nokia and Blackberry. In China, India, Japan and the other Asian countries Sony Ericsson and Nokia are dominating. The competition works for the benefit of the customers, meaning each company is trying to conquer the territory of its rivals. They are doing so by adding new interesting features and making their phones more affordable.

Each of these 4 cell phones has its own reputable strengths. Nokia offers amazing variants matching every taste and budget, the E7 and the other new releases are the public’s number one favorites in many countries. Phones with similar capabilities are also launched by Sony Ericson, and their new releases of XPERIA series proves that Sony still builds great cell phones. iPhone, as we all know it, has started to delve into the hearts of its customers much more than they previously were with their new release of iPhone 4.

So why are smartphones are taking the ground? The answer is simple : the efficiency and capabilities of the android operating systems. In the past decade, the Symbian operating system enjoyed a lot of popularity but it just can’t keep up with what the android OS can offer. The Symbian is a property of Nokia and although they are always improving its functionality, they have to come up with cell phones that are driven by the android system, because the competition is tough. Blackberry also has a great operating system called Blackberry OS, which is well known for its security on emailing services.

When it comes to top of the line features, iPhone is probably on the number one spot. The company has a lot of patents and inventions, both in software technology as well as in hardware technology. The operating system iOS is a huge success. The “App Store” is an online application that allows the iPhone owners to download everything they want through a very friendly interface. Nokia responded with “Ovi Store” which offers the same functionality and the other rival companies had followed with their version of online stores. The Android system offers a similar application called “Android Market”. The Android system is so efficient, both technological as well as from a marketing stand point that Sony Ericsson created a series based on Android System technology, the XPERIA cell phones. The advantage of the “Android Market” is the number of free application that it offers. The stylish and sleek design made iPhone a pioneer in this field. All the other companies are mimicking what iPhone has envisioned when they launched their fist iPhone many years ago, and today many cell phones from Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, LG and other companies have similar iPhone designs because people love them so much.

Sony Ericsson is widely recognized for the great sense of aesthetics, the battery life, a great operating system as well as the speed of the processors. The other giant in this category is Samsung, which is heavily competing on the Asian market. The company uses different technologies for their phones, some use the Android System while others run on “BADA OS” which is an operating system patterned by Samsung. But Sony Ericsson leads the market in the incorporated digital cameras department. Its where the company highly excels and it is the number one in this technological field.

Pricing is one of the areas that influences how products sell. And is not the just the price itself, but whether the price reflects the quality of the product or not. For example, iPhone and Sony Ericsson are well known for their market skimming strategies when they are trying to sell cell phones well above their value, just because there are a bit more advanced. Nokia and Samsung have two strategies when it comes to their products. They have to 2 lines of cell phones: one that is pricey and matches the quality of iPhone and Sony Ericsson and the other line that is cheap and affordable.

All of these cell phones are highly demanded on the market, especially the online market. You can sell used cell phones and get a fair amount on them. You can then use that money to purchase new models, either used or brand new, whichever you may chose.

Is the Droid X just too Big?

To be honest, we think the Droid X is too big. iPhone 4 did not increase size but increased pixel quality. The clarity of the iPhone 4 is notably better than the Droid X on a number of comparative websites.

The Pocket Test: if a smart phone doesn’t fit comfortably into your jeans pocket, then you have to put it somewhere else. Perhaps more are likely to get stolen from coffee shop tables.

iPhone users can happily tuck them in their side pocket sitting down without any discomfort. It’s usability which is the key. If you decide that the Droid X is just too big for you and you bought one, you can always visit trade2save online and see what you’ll get. Click here to find out our latest price for the Droid X.
