The trade2save blog has been created to champion more information to the public about the environmental impact of the consumer electronics industry. The consumer electronics industry pumps millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere every year through manufacturing and further pollutes through the growing mountains of e-waste, caused by over production and shortened product life-cycles. It’s a subject quickly swept under the carpet by politicians and manufacturers alike, who prefer to highlight energy efficient in the home.

In 2008, trade2save.com will be launched, where customers can buy pre-owned consumer electronics in graded conditions with a store warranty, and also trade in their own products for cash or higher value store credit. By increasing trust in the pre-owned market, and by setting the buying and selling prices to customers’ advantage, it is hoped that more Americans will embrace pre-owned consumer electronics, knowing that they are significantly reducing their carbon footprint by doing so.
