Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray VS Nokia X7 – Compare and Review

0

Today we are going to compare one of the two most popular cell phones on the market : the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray and the Nokia X7. Will the Sony’s compact size and great resolution outclass the X7 or will the X7’s big screen make a huge difference? What about the other features? What would make any of these phones a great purchase? Is it worth to sell my cell phone and get one of these? We will see.

Starting off, both handsets are of a very high quality and they almost evenly matched when it comes to functionality. In the processor department things get a bit edgy and both of them have something to say. Nokia X7 is equipped with a 680 Mhz processor along with a Broadcom BCM2727 processing unit for graphics. Both of these offer brilliant picture quality and visuals and the cell phone’s general processing speed is also very high. On top of these aspects, the RAM memory of 256MB completes the equation for a great performance cell phone.

The Sony Ericsson goes up a notch in terms of hardware capabilities. The great processing power offered by the 1GHz chip along with a Adreno 205 GPU makes it one of the top cell phones available on the market. The 300MB of RAM are a bit above what Nokia offered, but when it comes to the actual tests, the Nokia doesn’t fall behind, their performance levels are tightly close. The Nokia’s 4 inch display is one of the features that attracts most of their customers. The Xperia’s screen is not that large, featuring only a 3.3 inches display but the company also targets the customers that prefer a smaller cell phone. The Nokia X7 offers a resolution of not more than 380 x 640 pixels. Although it’s quite low compared to what Sony is offering, the AMOLED hardware technology from the screen makes up for it, offering a wonderful image, more vivid than its LCD rival.

Both companies kept their tradition and their cell phones are incorporating the latest top of the line camera features. The Nokia X7 is equipped with a 8 Mega Pixel camera which not many other phones on the market are offering. The other features include dual LED flash and geo tagging, both adding to a better picture quality and shooting experience. The cell phone also comes in handy to those that love shooting video footage with using the High Definition 720p technology. Although the Xperia Ray offers the same what Nokia is offering, in terms of mega pixels, the Sony Ericsson is not equipped with a touch focus functionality, but rather a fixed focus facility only. In this area, the Xperia falls a bit short compared to Nokia although the video quality of both devices are similar.

The Sony Ericsson model Xperia Ray offers great performance all around but the Nokia X7 goes a bit beyond and the predictions for the sales statistics indicates just that. If you want to trade your Nokia X7 for an Xperia you can sell your used cell phone online and wait for Sony Ericsson to come available for you to purchase it. Many other people sell used cell phones for cash to be able to afford newer models.
